Services Director and Commissioning Manager
ETG was contracted by the main contractor, John Holland, in February 2019 to fulfill two key roles on the project:
Services Director, responsible for integrating and commissioning all building services in the hospital.
ICT Integration Manager, overseeing all ICT Packages and facilitating vendor-client/operator interfaces.
Calvary Adelaide Hospital, South Australia's largest private hospital, delivers top-tier healthcare to private and self-insured patients. Designed with a focus on enhancing patient experience, the facility features state-of-the-art amenities, including a 3-story basement carpark, A&E department, 365 beds, 16 operating theatres, CSSD, ICU, and isolation rooms.
ETG conducted a comprehensive project review, identifying opportunities to streamline construction processes and integrate build and services teams. We swiftly integrated with the client PM and operator IT teams through workshops and tight timescale action lists, which were incorporated into a detailed commissioning program. Our responsibilities encompassed overall commissioning, ICT validation, integration, training, and service handover. We developed integrated test scripts for fire, ICT, and Blackstart, and actively participated in client progress meetings and liaised with the client Independent Commissioning Agent (ICA) to ensure transparency in commissioning activities.
Our commitment to stakeholder engagement aimed to enhance project delivery, coordinating efforts among multiple vendors, subcontractors, and clients to maximize productivity and minimize defects. Post Practical Completion (PC), we remained involved to manage Defects Liability Period (DLP) tuning requirements.
With our involvement in Building Tuning, we aim to reduce the client's energy usage and maintenance costs, delivering the best end result to the client.
